Minecraft Free Launcher is launcher software, not a free copy of Minecraft. It reads the official version catalog, prepares the files required by your selection and launches the official demo when no game account is connected.

    It installs the self-contained Windows app, shortcuts and uninstaller without requiring administrator rights.

    Choose a local display name. The launcher does not ask for Microsoft credentials.

    The launcher downloads that build, its libraries, assets and matching Java runtime.

    Start the official demo

    Community mode always uses the game demo flag. Buy Minecraft from the official store to play the complete game.

Straight answers before you install

Is Minecraft Free Launcher the full Minecraft game for free?

No. It is free launcher software. Without an authenticated game account, this build starts the official demo. The complete game requires a valid Minecraft: Java Edition license.

Does it require a Microsoft account?

No. This community build has no Microsoft authentication and no password field. It uses a local display name and launches demo mode.

Can it install every Minecraft Java version?

It reads all vanilla entries exposed by the official Mojang version manifest, including releases, snapshots, old beta and old alpha builds. Some very old builds can have modern Windows compatibility limitations.

Do I need to install Java first?

No for the normal flow. The launcher installs the Java runtime required by the selected version. A custom Java path is available for advanced troubleshooting.

Does it install Forge or Fabric?

One-click mod-loader installation is not included in the current beta. Compatible profiles created by the official Forge, Fabric or NeoForge installers can be detected in the selected game directory.
