First, download a local copy of the affected world. Minecraft warns that Realm backups are not retained indefinitely and recommends downloading a world before replacing it because replacement can result in lost progress.
Preserve a local copy
- In Minecraft, select Play.
- Enter the Realm’s slots screen.
- Select the slot containing the affected world.
- Choose Edit World.
- Select Download World for the most recent version, or select Backups to download a listed backup.
- When the download finishes, select Let’s Go.
The downloaded Realm world will appear in the local worlds list.
Restore a backup save
Restoring a save reverts the Realm to the progress captured in that save, including its builds and items.
- Launch Minecraft and select Play.
- Select the Realms tab.
- Open the Realms Hub for the Realm containing the world you want to restore.
- Select the World tab.
- Select Saves, then Manage saves if that option appears in your interface.
- Open the Manual or Automatic tab, depending on where the backup is stored.
- Select the three-dot menu beside the desired save.
- Select Restore save.
