LeviLauncher for Minecraft Bedrock on Windows
A source-checked guide to installing LeviLauncher from its official GitHub project and managing licensed Minecraft Bedrock GDK builds on Windows.
LeviLauncher is a desktop launcher maintained in the LiteLDev GitHub organization for Minecraft Bedrock Edition GDK on Windows. It can install, organize, isolate and launch Release or Preview builds, but it does not supply a Minecraft license. The project documentation requires a legitimate Bedrock copy tied to a Microsoft account.
What LeviLauncher manages
The launcher is designed around Minecraft Bedrock Edition GDK Release and Preview builds. It can keep managed versions and their content organized separately from the normal game location.
Its upstream documentation covers version installation, isolation, worlds, resource packs, behavior packs, skin packs, screenshots, server lists and optional mod workflows. These are launcher management features, not a replacement for game ownership or Microsoft services.
Windows and account requirements
The official project lists Windows 10 or Windows 11, a licensed Bedrock GDK copy, Microsoft Gaming Services and Microsoft GameInput as requirements. The documentation also names WebView2 Runtime among components that may be needed.
Store ownership must be visible to the Microsoft account on the computer. LeviLauncher cannot repair a missing entitlement or turn an unlicensed account into a licensed one.
-
Prepare the official game
Install Minecraft for Windows from Microsoft Store and start it once so Store ownership and Gaming Services can finish their setup.
-
Close Minecraft
Exit the game before installing or changing a managed build.
-
Check Windows components
Resolve prompts for Gaming Services, GameInput or WebView2 before troubleshooting the launcher itself.
Use the real download channel
The safest starting point is the Releases page inside github.com/LiteLDev/LeviLauncher. It keeps the installer beside the project history, release notes and issue tracker.
The maintainers also document a regional Lanzou mirror, but unrelated file hosts, shortened links and installers republished under similar names should be treated as unverified. Never disable security tools merely because a mirror tells you to do so.
-
Open the upstream repository
Confirm that the owner is LiteLDev and the repository name is LeviLauncher.
-
Choose Releases
Download the installer attached by the project rather than a copy from a search advertisement.
-
Keep release context
Read the notes and open issues when a Windows component or Preview build behaves differently.
Release, Preview and isolation
A Release build is the sensible first test for a normal world. Preview builds exist for upcoming behavior and may introduce compatibility changes, so they should remain separate from important data.
Isolation is useful when testing packs, mods or another game channel because it reduces accidental overlap. It is not a substitute for backups. Export or copy valuable worlds before changing a managed installation.
LeviLauncher versus LeviLaunchroid
LeviLauncher is the Windows Bedrock GDK desktop project in LiteLDev/LeviLauncher. LeviLaunchroid is a different repository aimed at ARM64 Android devices and works with the Google Play edition.
Their similar names do not make their installers interchangeable. Do not install an Android APK on Windows, and do not follow Windows GDK steps when preparing LeviLaunchroid on a phone or tablet.
Questions
Does LeviLauncher include Minecraft Bedrock?
No. The upstream requirements specify a legitimate licensed Bedrock GDK copy tied to your Microsoft account.
Is LeviLauncher the Android launcher?
No. LiteLDev/LeviLauncher is for Windows. The separate LiteLDev/LeviLaunchroid repository is the Android project.
Where should I download LeviLauncher?
Use the Releases page in the official LiteLDev/LeviLauncher GitHub repository. Avoid unrelated mirrors and search advertisements.
